The first appears to be of Pacific islands origin, possibly pre-WWII Phillipines. It is 21" in overall length, with a 15" single-sided blade. The handle is probably bone. The curved handle, at least, is hand-made. There is no pommel, but an octagonal metal end piece with a hammered metal pin holding it on. There are two marks on the blade, which might be punched letters PL (or they could just be random marks). The leather sheath has a small amount of decoration at the top. It could actually be a small machete.
The second knife is a Scottish dirk, mid-19th century(?). It is 18" overall with a 13" single-sided blade.
The handle is carved wood in a "weaved" pattern. It has an oval brass guard and a brass pommel. The blade has twin fullers
along the top edge. There is a stamped figure of an animal, possibly a Passau wolf,
near the handle. The leather sheath has brass at top and bottom, with the bottom piece
being etched with scrollwork.
