May 2003 Meeting Links and Hints
LinkConverter was suggested as a way to get your AOL links into another browser. This program is for Mac OS and will probably launch Classic in OS X.
Version Tracker is a good place to look for software
We hope to have an article in the next newsletter about Universal Access and Easy Access features.
Check out Keyboard Shortcuts for more OS X things for your brain to remember. It's often better to learn only those things you use. Command-shift-3 takes a picture of your screen (all Mac OSs).

March 2003 Meeting Links
  MacInTouch FireWire Guide and
Discussion of the dangers of hot-swapping
Summary: Consider high-quality cables for FireWire devices and be sure you plug in the cables the right way. Be especially careful with bus-powered devices.
  UA-1A USB Analog Audio Capture
Doug's Lexar Media Jump Drive and similar USB flash drives can be seen at Everything USB Be wary of operating system compatibility. There are reviews there for some products.

Mac Hints and Tips is a newsletter that seems to have a lot of useful content.

Apple Works User Group will help you get more out of Apple Works. Realize that any templates for AppleWorks or ClarisWorks for earlier versions than what you own will work on your version.

Mac Update can help you find updates for your software as can Version Tracker

Google is a great place to search for web sites and all sorts of stuff.

Internet Public Library is, well, a library. The librarians have organized the information.

MacInstruct has many useful tutorials; check out the screenshot tutorial by former LCAC member Cindy O'Hora; many tutorials on creating web sites.

MyMac.com is yet another information source with book and software reviews and commentary.

Adobe Photoshop Elements was suggested as a solid photo editing application for the average user. Best Stuff concurs. You can sample this application by going to Adobe's free product tryout.

Visit the Apple Store and the User Group Store. The password is in the PDF-format newsletter e-mailed to LCAC members.
